WELCOMING BACK INACTIVE
DEACONS, PRIESTS, AND RELIGIOUS
The National Catholic Apostolic Church in the United States – NCACUS is well aware of the existence of many decent and true inactive Deacons, Priests, and Religious who have been pastorally orphaned, discarded or forced into inactive status. Not only has such shameful unprofessional behavior and attitudes deprived our brothers and sisters from experiencing the grace of their vocations, but it has also robbed the People of God of highly qualified pastoral care and support.
The National Catholic Apostolic Church in the United States – NCACUS, extends a loving and pastoral hand to you Deacons, Priests, and Religious, who are without a sacramental and vocational home, to consider continuing your sacramental and vocational life with us. Such institutional malpractice must not be permitted to deny you, our brothers and sisters your sacramental and vocational lives. This Catholic jurisdiction was consecrated and mandated to reach out to all who have been pastorally disenfranchised and this includes inactive Deacons, Priests, and Religious men and women. So then, you who are inactive whether it be Deacons, Priests, or Religious who are currently inactive for reasons other than being convicted of felonious sexual abuse or sexual assault, our Catholic family would like to welcome you by following an incardination process with us, if all our requirements are met.
Our Catholic jurisdiction wants to establish new parish missions in communities where there are not enough qualified clerics or religious to respond to their pastoral needs. There are some communities that would welcome a National Catholic Apostolic jurisdiction by establishing a mission. We would like to welcome clerics, religious to make that pastoral or religious presence uniting or reuniting the People of God with the gift of the Sacramental and Liturgical Life of Catholicism in an unconditionally welcoming environment. The standards of this Catholic faith community are high and non-negotiable. We are totally serious about our vocations and we expect our candidates considering our formation program or our program for incardination to be equally serious and committed. We are not like other independent catholic bodies. We are a National Church whose territories now reach 3 Continents.
The National Catholic Apostolic Church in the United States – NCACUS has no money for stipends. Our "compensation" comes in the form of our bonds with one another and with the People of God. We have no opulent cathedrals. Our vocations and our Liturgical and Sacramental lives radiate within the hearts of our mission communities. We have no pension plan. We trust in the promise of Life Eternal. We have borne the dysfunctional and have come out as healers. We are simply worker Deacons, Priests, and Religious responding to Jesus' invitation to "Come, follow Me" and to "Ask and you shall receive".
The National Catholic Apostolic Church in the United States – NCACUS would like to acknowledge those inactive Deacons, Priests, and Religious among us who chose to continue fulfilling their vocations.
We accept applications from inactive Deacons, Priests, and Religious who left their vocations, but who now once again feel called to re-embrace their own calling to serve as clerics or religious in this Church. Many of you have either married, entered into committed relationships or are at a place in your lives which now precludes you from returning to your former vocation. To you we also invite and welcome to consider our Catholic family for your vocational homecoming. The National Catholic Apostolic Church in the United States – NCACUS extends to you the invitation to share the gift of your vocation and the gift of your spirituality and the dignity of yourself with us. Come home!
* We are not accepting applications or requests from Bishops.
